Hey Butterflies,
We all know that breathing is important. It gives us life. A lot of people will even joke around with their friends about how important breathing is ( i.e., you’ll never catch me without a breath mint!”). But people rarely think about taking a moment each day to actually practice conscious breathing. They feel like they have no time to breathe, let alone sit down and pay attention to their breathe for a few minutes in their morning before starting their day. Many of us aren’t getting enough oxygen from our lungs. Not only does this impact our energy levels through the day, but it impacts every single cell in our body. If you really think about it breathing should be the number one thing we prioritize.
Throughout the day, we’re all so busy and caught up in what we’re doing that we forget about the importance of just stopping for a second and training ourselves to breathe deeply. One of the most effective ways to improve our mental health is with exercises that help us accomplish this. The breathe challenge is a simple way to incorporate deep breathing into your daily routine.
Create a Breathing Practice
By practicing breathing you can make a big transformation in your life. If you are feeling tense or overworked, breathe, it will help you calm down. When you are moving to fast take the time and breathe. By breathing you are reminding your body to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Every morning for the next 7 days, you’re going to do a breathing session as soon as you wake up.
Close your eyes. Breathe in and hold for 3 seconds.
Then, breathe out —1,2,3
Inhale...
...Exhale... In..
... And out.
Now you’re ready!
